The standard

What it means to be properly dressed

Being well dressed has little to do with being expensive. It is a quiet agreement between you, your clothes and the occasion. When that agreement holds, nobody notices the suit. They notice you.

Our standard rests on six things. Every piece in the house is checked against all six, and we will gladly help you check your own wardrobe the same way.

  1. Fit

Fit comes first, always. A jacket follows the line of your shoulder, closes without pulling at the button and shows a little shirt cuff at the wrist. A gown meets the body where it should and falls freely everywhere else. A good fit makes a simple piece look made for you. A poor fit cannot be rescued by any fabric.

  2. Fabric

Natural fibres breathe, drape and age well. Wool for tailoring, silk and crepe for the evening, leather finished by hand. You feel the difference by the end of a long night, and other people see it from across the room.

  3. Proportion

Lapel width, trouser break, hem length and heel height all work together. When the proportions are right, an outfit looks calm and deliberate instead of busy.

  4. The occasion

Every invitation carries a dress code, even when nobody writes it down. Black tie, cocktail, business, a summer wedding: each one asks for something different. Dressing to standard means reading that code and answering it with confidence.

  5. Comfort

Comfort is part of the standard, never a compromise. If you keep adjusting your collar or counting the hours in your shoes, people can see it. Clothes that fit and breathe let you forget about them and be present.

  6. Care

A pressed shirt, polished shoes, a clean line at the hem. The last ten percent lives in the details, and the details are what people remember.

Comfort, by design

Elegance you can wear all night

The best evening of the year should not end with sore feet and a tight waistband.

We choose every piece with movement in mind: linings that breathe, seams that give where the body moves, and shoes balanced for standing, dancing and the walk home. Looking composed is easy when you feel at ease.

  • Breathable natural fibres and cupro linings that keep you cool under the lights
  • Bias cuts and soft construction that move with you, not against you
  • Clear size guidance for every piece, so the first fit is the right fit
  • Heels and soles chosen for balance, not only for height
  • 14 days to try everything at home, no reason needed
